About Me

Dr. Becker is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon with additional fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive surgery. He specializes in the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of simple as well as complex foot and ankle issues, fractures and deformities.

His clinical expertise consists of simple and complex surgery of the foot and ankle including ankle replacement surgery, ankle and foot fusions, ankle instability with tendon and ligamentous disorders, deformity correction, achilles tendon injuries and pain, bunions, hammertoe toe deformities, sports injuries (cartilage injuries), neuroma’s and ankle and foot arthroscopy.

“I always try to consider conservative treatment options as well as less invasive surgical procedures when possible. My overall treatment plan takes into account the concerns and lifestyle of my patients with the ultimate goal of getting them back on their feet as quickly as possible.”

Dr. Becker completed his medical education at the State University of New York where he graduated with honors. His Orthopedic Surgery residency was completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  He then elected to further his Orthopedic training with a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive surgery with renowned surgeon Dr. Mark Myerson at The Mercy Orthopedic Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Becker built an active, well respected practice in Bergen County for the pst twelve years. He worked with a diverse patient population including children, adults and athletes with injuries, mild and major trauma and fractures, deformities and patients with mild to severe arthritis. He is also currently the physician for various local high schools as well as a treating physician for college athletes.

Dr. Becker’s research is focused on fracture, fusion and tendon healing as well as on bone stimulator technology.  As a Chief Resident he received the Fred Buechel Award for most outstanding research on the positive effects of bone stimulators. He has authored articles in respected peer reviewed medical journals and co-authored book chapters on foot and ankle reconstructive procedures. He continues to lecture at national conferences and courses on multiple topics of Foot and Ankle Surgery.  He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Becker plans to continue a strong tradition of quality patient care and patient education by offering each patient exceptional skill and unparalleled treatment in a warm and compassionate atmosphere.

When he is not working Dr. Becker enjoys biking, skiing, hiking and spending quality time with his wife, daughter and two sons.
