About Me
Edward Rutkovsky, MD, FACC, FACP is a member of Summit Health’s Cardiology team. Dr. Rutkovsky is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is also board certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. His area of expertise is non-invasive and consultative cardiology, focusing on cardiac imaging with an emphasis on nuclear cardiology including SPECT and Cardiac PET scanning.
Dr. Rutkovsky earned his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine. He performed his rigorous internship and residency at the prestigious New York University Medical Center. Dr. Rutkovsky’s fellowship in cardiovascular disease was completed at North Shore University Hospital in affiliation with Cornell University Medical College.
The Castle Connelly Guide esteemed him one of the foremost cardiologists in the New York state area by the vote of his patients and peers. He has also been recognized by Newsday and the New York Times as a top doctor in the specialty of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology as well as the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of both the Medical Society of the State of New York and Nassau County Medical Society.
It is imperative to Dr. Rutkovsky to provide high quality and efficient medical care. “Giving patients an understanding of their condition and explaining the rational for all treatment plans,” he says. He enjoys positive patient outcomes and his relationship with each individual patient.
Outside of practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, softball, tennis, classic cars, auto mechanics, music, home repair and improvement, and electronics.
