About Me
Barry Rossman, MD is a board-certified urologist who has been in practice for over 32 years with an expertise in treating all aspects of the Genito-urinary tract, including urologic malignancies, kidney stone disease, erectile dysfunction, prostate disease and urinary incontinence. He has been named “Best Doctor” by his peers yearly in Castle Connelly since 1999, and in New Jersey Magazine since 2005 ongoing. He is certified by the American Board of Urology since 1991, and recertified several times (scoring in the top quintile on recertifying exams), including most recently in 2021.
Dr. Rossman attended Duke University for his undergraduate degree and received his Medical Degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. He then completed his surgical internship and urology residency at Montefiore/Albert Einstein Hospital and Medical Center. He also received training in uro-oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Hospital.
He is certified in the performance of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), laser surgery of the Genito-urinary tract, urologic cryosurgery, and urologic Laparoscopic surgery, UroLift treatment of BPH, Radioactive seed implantation of the prostate, among many others.
In addition to his primary role of patient care, Dr. Rossman currently serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of the Urology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Rossman has been the Medical Director of the New Jersey Kidney Stone Center since 2000 and served on the Board of Directors of the American Lithotripsy Society. He also was a member of the Governing Board of the Surgical Specialists of Princeton (Ambulatory Surgery Center) from 2011-2015. Dr. Rossman is a member of the American Urologic Association, American Association of Clinical Urologists, and the International Society for the Study of Sexual Medicine. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
What’s most important to Dr. Rossman in a patient visit is “to probe for specific details, order appropriate tests, then discuss all possible treatment options with the patient”, he says. He enjoys improving the quality of life for all of his patients.
