About Me

Julie Foont, MD is a member of Summit Health's Gastroenterology team. Dr. Foont’s gastroenterology experience is wide-ranging and includes expertise in reflux management, irritable bowel syndrome therapies, the treatment of liver diseases, including hepatitis B and C, as well as the treatment of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer screening, and fatty liver disease. Additionally, her team offers FibroScan imaging for on site evaluation of liver disease.

Dr. Foont approaches patient care as she would want it delivered to family members. Dr. Foont most enjoys getting to know her patients and understanding their unique needs, then translating that knowledge into prompt and individualized care. “I would like to be a physician my patients trust and for them to know I have their best interests at heart,” she says.

Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Foont worked as a professional medical illustrator producing drawings for textbooks, journal articles, and lectures both nationally and internationally. She is recognized in her field for her published original research articles and her presentations at national meetings. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease.
