About Me
Madalyn Vasquez, RD, CDCES is a member of Summit Health's Nutrition Services team. With expertise in management and prevention of nutrition-related diseases, Ms. Vasquez assesses patients’ health needs while empowering them to understand food and successfully manage their health through small sustainable lifestyle changes.
“Through proper guidance and counseling, I can help close nutrition gaps and clear up misconceptions that exist in our communities,” she says.
As a child, Ms. Vasquez witnessed her grandmother’s struggle with diabetes – an experience that sparked her interest in medicine and ultimately drove her to become a registered dietitian. Lacking proper nutritional guidance, her grandmother never learned how her food choices critically affected the course of her disease, but it was through this personal observation that Ms. Vasquez began to see the strong connection between food and health. From that time on, she began a journey of learning as much as possible about food and cooking and even went on to earn her associate degree in culinary arts - a background that serves her patients well.
Ms. Vasquez loves traveling to connect with other cultures and learn about different foods that she can incorporate into her patients’ care. She is an avid runner and an advocate for building and sustaining support for the diabetes community.
