About Me
Ronald D. Snyder, MD, MS is a member of Summit Health’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team. Dr. Snyder’s experience is vast, ranging from general orthopedics to pediatric orthopedic surgery. He currently focuses on youth sports medicine as a pediatric orthopedist.
In his practice Dr. Snyder works to understand and treat a child’s underlying musculoskeletal condition based on their motion and strength capacity. Learning about walking development and its analysis also has been foundational in his work. These scientific interests led him to pursue a Master of Science degree in biomechanics and ergonomics at New York University to better understand and treat injuries related to sports performance.
Dr. Snyder prioritizes building rapport with his patients, learning about their interests and making visits fun especially with young children. He values his mentors’ shared enjoyment of the work and relationships, and he credits childhood role models for inspiring him to pursue a health care career. From a fourth-grade biology teacher to an aunt who brought him along to her nurse anesthetist job, their encouragement provided much motivation along the way which led Dr. Snyder to do what he enjoys the most. “Treating children is incredibly fun and rewarding,” he said.
In his free time Dr. Snyder enjoys spending time with his family.
