About Me
A gastroenterologist with Summit Health since 2001, Adam Barrison, MD, has expertise in celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and colon cancer prevention. In addition to his duties as a physician, Dr. Barrison is Vice Chairman of the Summit Health Board of Directors. He also oversees the Summit Health Governance Committee and Retirement Committee. He has been a member of the Summit Health Board of Directors since 2007. At the leading edge of innovations in his field, Dr. Barrison regularly attends gastroenterology symposiums and conferences. He is the author or coauthor of articles and abstracts concerning a range of topics in gastroenterology. His articles and abstracts have been published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals such as American Journal of Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Evidence-Based Gastroenterology. He also has delivered local invited presentations in his field.
Dr. Barrison is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterologic Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Medical Association, New Jersey Medical Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He has been featured in New Jersey Monthly "Top Doctors" listings and Millburn-Short Hills magazine "Super Doctors" listings. He also has been listed in Castle Connolly's "America's Top Doctors" and Castle Connolly's "Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area." Dr. Barrison's Castle Connolly listings have been reprinted in Inside Jersey and US News and World Report.
A devoted father of two young children, Dr. Barrison spends time with his family when he is not working with his patients. His personal interests include travel and finance.
