About Me

A former athlete, Dr. Alen R. Tar understands the importance of foot and ankle health in the overall health of his patients. His experience with and passion for sports inspired him to study medicine, surgery and podiatry so that he could help others improve and maintain the health of their feet and ankles.

To his credit, Dr. Tar has participated in community volunteer activities, including foot screening for the Department of Veterans Affairs Homeless Shelter, American Cancer Society Relay for Life Soccer Tournament, and American Diabetes Association America’s Walk for Diabetes. He has delivered invited presentations concerning foot and ankle biomechanics and complications of surgery to correct flat or fallen arches. Dr. Tar is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the New Jersey Society of Podiatric Medicine and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.

Dr. Tar is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to each of his patients while tailoring treatment to their specific needs.

When he is not caring for his patients, Dr. Tar enjoys spending time with his family and dog, lead an active lifestyle going on hikes, long drives, vacationing as well as practicing his trumpet.
