About Me

Carissa Meyer, MD is a member of Summit Health’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team. Dr. Meyer is a board certified, fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in operative and nonoperative treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the hand and upper extremities in patients of all ages. In addition to fracture and other trauma, Dr. Meyer treats overuse injuries and tendonitis, including trigger finger, nerve compression such as carpal tunnel, arthritis, TFCC (triangular fibrocartilage complex) injuries, tennis and golf elbow, Dupuytren's contracture as well as all pediatric conditions, including congenital hand differences. Dr. Meyer is also extremely passionate about educating on carpal tunnel syndrome and dispelling some common misconceptions around the condition and its treatment.

Dr. Meyer's care approach is to integrate each patient's unique experience with her expertise and evidence-based medicine to develop an effective treatment plan that addresses their individual needs. "Providing the best, most effective care I can, while also ensuring my patient feels comfortable with the proposed plan, is of utmost importance to me," Dr. Meyer says.

Dr. Meyer is an avid runner and has run several marathons. She also enjoys healthy cooking and hiking.
