About Me
Douglas A. Brylka, MD a fellowship trained Body Imager, has joined Summit Radiological Associates. Since completion of his fellowship in 2011, he has been an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology in the Body Imaging Division at Weill Cornell – New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY.
Dr. Brylka received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University McCormick School of Engineering in Evanston, IL in 2001. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA in 2005. He did a Transitional Medicine Internship at Caritas Carney Hospital in Boston, MA and then proceeded with a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL which he completed in 2010. At Loyola Doug was a Co-Chief resident from 2009 to 2010.After completion of his radiology residency, he furthered his training with a fellowship in MRI Body Imaging at Weill Cornell – New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY. Since completion of his fellowship in 2011, he stayed at Weill Cornell as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology in the Body Imaging Division.
Dr. Brylka's clinical expertise is in Body imaging and interprets CT, MRI, radiographs, ultrasound and PET/CT. He has an interest in advanced applications of MRI to body imaging, with special interest in bowel, prostate and liver. He has published on numerous topics and has presented his research at various meetings including Radiological Society of North America. He previously functioned as the medical director of the 3D post processing lab which in addition to clinical imaging, also provided imaging research support for clinical trials. He was also selected as the physician leader of ultrasound which allowed him to explore the quality and operational issues for the modality. In addition to his clinical activities, he is an active and involved teacher of residents.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Brylka enjoys spending time with his young family, practicing the piano and studying antique maps.
