About Me

An associate physician with Summit Health General Surgery, Farshad Abir, MD, also is Attending Physician at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey. His expertise is colorectal surgery. Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Abir was Associate Physician with Piedmont Colorectal Associates in Atlanta, Georgia. He has delivered local, national, and international invited presentations primarily devoted to endoscopic and laparoscopic surgical techniques. He is the author or coauthor of articles and abstracts, which are published in prestigious peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Surgical Oncology, American Journal of Surgery, and Archives of Surgery. Dr. Abir is the recipient of more than 13 honors and awards, including the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Award and Clarence Dennis Award for outstanding Clinical Performance in Surgery.
