Dr. Garcia says, “As a former competitive athlete and current weightlifter and Crossfit athlete, I can relate to my patients when injuries occur and understand how important it is to get them back in the game as quickly as possible. I chose orthopedics because it allows me to help injured patients return to and maintain their activities and quality of life. It is especially satisfying when my patients tell me they can continue the activities they love as a result of my treatment.” He adds, “I consider all aspects of a patient’s situation, including physical findings, lifestyle, level and type of activity, and his or her expectations when determining a treatment plan. My goal is to help patients with the least invasive approaches possible.”
Dr. Garcia’s research is focused on shoulder injuries in the throwing athlete and biological approaches to tendon and bone healing. He is the co-author of articles, abstracts and book chapters that are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Orthopedics and has lectured regionally and nationally on these topics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Amerian Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America.
