Kaytan Amrute, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery team. Dr. Amrute was drawn to a career in health care because it combines his two greatest passions: helping others with compassion and tackling complex challenges. He is especially interested in improving lives by addressing not just the physical symptoms but also the psychological and emotional needs of patients.

Dr. Amrute's area of expertise is pelvic reconstructive surgery. He treats pelvic organ prolapse, urinary problems such as stress incontinence or overactive bladder issues. He also sees low-risk obstetrical patients and gynecology patients in need of minimally invasive laparoscopic or robotic surgery. 

Dr. Amrute believes in individualizing a plan for patients that will take care of their specific needs and concerns. "The most important thing to me during a visit with a patient is to build trust through actively listening to their concerns, explaining diagnoses and findings, and then communicating a clear plan to alleviate their problem," he says. He enjoys seeing favorable outcomes that are a result of tailoring treatments and collaboration between his patients and himself. 

Outside of work, Dr. Amrute has a range of interests. He enjoys cycling, hiking, cooking, reading, and traveling. He is also passionate about giving back to the community and donates to charities such as Feeding Westchester and UNICEF.
