Elizabeth Stefano is a Nationally Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of New Rochelle and a Master of Science from Mercy University. With a strong passion for understanding her patients, she has always been driven to advocate for people who may feel intimidated by their medical situation as a nonjudgmental source of knowledge and support.  She has many years of experience in gastroenterology, both in the procedure room and in office treating patients with acute and chronic health conditions.

Elizabeth’s approach to patient care involves treating patients with dignity and respect, including them in decision making, and strategizing an individualized plan. She works with a trusted interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and provide an all-inclusive experience.

In her own words, “It is very important to care for a patient in a holistic manner, taking into consideration their unique needs. Gastroenterology is paramount because it is so closely linked to overall health. No one is exempt from the importance of gut health, screening, and maintenance. Ensuring that the patient understands their own microbiome is game-changing for their treatment plan as everyone has the ability to be their own pharmacist just by picking the right foods and being more mindful about what they put in their bodies’.

Outside of her work, Elizabeth is a proud mom who enjoys traveling and hosting family and friends. She is also very passionate about women’s health and mental health, as she believes these fields are closely linked to gastroenterology and total well-being.
