About Me

Timothy G. Reish, MD is a member of Summit Health’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team. Dr. Reish specializes in treating sports-related and degenerative disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and knee, with a specific interest in shoulder replacement surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from Colgate University and his medical degree with high honors from Temple University in Philadelphia. He then went on to complete his Orthopaedic residency at The Ohio State University where he worked extensively with their Division I football, basketball, and baseball teams treating sports related injuries. Dr. Reish completed a fellowship at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute in Sports Medicine and Knee/Shoulder reconstruction where he trained with the team physicians for the New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and New York Yankees. He continued his career with the ISK Institute for the next 16 years, treating patients for disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and knee.

Dr. Reish grew up observing his father’s fulfillment as an orthopedic surgeon, which inspired him to pursue a career in health care. He now experiences his own fulfillment helping patients return to the activities they enjoy. He prioritizes compassionate and thorough communication with all patients and only pursues surgery after all avenues of conservative treatments have been exhausted.

Dr. Reish has published and is currently participating in multiple research projects, including one to develop critical pain protocols for outpatient shoulder replacement and another focusing on rotator cuff-sparing, shoulder arthroplasty techniques. He also lectures extensively on research and techniques related to shoulder replacement surgery.

Outside the office, Dr. Reish enjoys golf, skiing, and racquet sports.
