As the pandemic continues and the Omicron variant shows up across the country, experts strongly encourage people who received their second dose of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines at least 6 months ago, or 2 months after their dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, to get a booster shot to increase their protection against a serious case of COVID-19. Summit Health internist Dr. Soma Mandal describes various possible side effects in a recent Women’s Health article. “There is a varied response to the vaccine and booster shots,” says Dr. Mandal. “Some people have not experienced any side effects with any of the vaccines, while others have experienced side effects with the second dose and the booster dose.”
