Berkeley Heights, NJ, December 7, 2021 — Summit Health today announced the addition of Evergreen Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), one of Long Island’s premier ear, nose and throat physician practices providing outstanding ENT care in the Long Beach, NY and Garden City, NY regions.
The integration of Evergreen ENT further extends Summit Health’s presence in New York and offers existing and future patients in Long Island access to the very best in ear, nose and throat care. Dr. Shefali Shah, Board Certified in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) and Head and Neck Surgery and founder of Evergreen ENT, will lead the Summit Health ENT practices in Long Beach and Garden City. Dr. Shah will be supported by her longtime associate, Certified Registered Physician Assistant (RPA-C), Vanessa Rizzi.

Summit Health’s ENT practices in Long Beach and Garden City will continue Dr. Shah’s focus on treating the entire patient, providing the best medical ear, nose, and throat management prior to discussing surgical options and incorporating natural treatments when appropriate.
Dr. Shah has continually been at the forefront of ear, nose, and throat care and selected as one of America’s Top Physicians as well as the recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award, among other honors. Dr. Shah has experience treating sinus infections and performs balloon sinuplasty, a minimally invasive in-office procedure to treat patients with multiple sinus infections. Her practice was selected as an Oasis site of balloon sinuplasty excellence for outstanding patient results. Dr. Shah is also passionate about the proper diagnosis and best management of ENT issues, such as hearing loss, in both the middle age and the senior population.
Raised on Long Island, Dr. Shah graduated cum laude from Princeton University. Upon graduation, she attended The Johns Hopkins Medical School, consistently ranked in the top two medical schools in the country. Dr. Shah completed her ENT training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She received many awards including the Chicago Laryngological Society for best ENT research.
Dr. Shah has done extensive ENT research including the best practice management of sinus infections and allergy disease as well as ear problems. Her ENT work has been published in prestigious otolaryngology journals and she has given presentations at the national and international level.

Certified Registered Physician Assistant (RPA-C), Vanessa Rizzi, will continue to provide Long Island ear, nose and throat services at Summit Health’s Long Beach ENT office as she has for the past several years. Ms. Rizzi has extensive outpatient specialty experience. She graduated with honors from the prestigious Touro College physician assistant program. While there, she consistently outperformed her peers in both her clinical and academic pursuits. She received her bachelor’s degree from Fordham University.
