National Cancer Survivors Day - June 7, 2020
The National Cancer Survivors Day® Foundation defines a cancer survivor as anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. June 7, 2020 is the national day of recognition.
For the past few years, Summit Medical Group Cancer Center has honored cancer survivors and champions through creative, artistic exhibits and events, such as the Art of Healing concert, Don’t Fight Fair Story Slam, and the Hope Grows Here wall murals because we believe in the healing power of creative art forms.
This year, we seek to celebrate the incomparable strength and courage of cancer survivors and recognize the amazing cancer care providers who have stood strong to provide continual care to patients during this challenging time.
Due to COVID-19, and with the health and safety of our community in mind, we’re continuing our National Cancer Survivors Day tradition in a virtual capacity with an online art gallery featuring original works from cancer survivors. The latest art show was curated by Summit Medical Group’s space planner, Elizabeth Wiech, who has meticulously showcased the creative talents of many artists over the years.
We hope our virtual compilation of artwork and inspiring words from the artists encourages and elevates all who view their work.
