Alyssa Balz, PA is a member of Summit Health’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team. Ms. Balz has experience treating patients with sports injuries and joint pain, and those whose conditions require orthopedic surgery.
Ms. Balz takes a patient-centered approach to care, factoring one’s background, lifestyle and goals into her treatment plan. Her own experience with injuries as a three-sport athlete gave her an appreciation of the provider-patient relationship and inspired her career in health care.
Ms. Balz believes her focus on creating a comfortable space and making quality time for each patient leads to what she enjoys most about her work: positive outcomes.
“I love hearing that what we talked about worked, and that patients are able to do the things they love again,” she said.
In her free time Ms. Balz enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, whether hiking, biking, playing tennis or relaxing at the beach. Having previously joined a medical mission trip to Ghana, she’s also passionate about global health and helping communities in developing nations.
