About Me

Bankim Shah, MD is board certified in Internal and Sleep Medicine, with an expertise in caring for chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, allergies, peptic ulcers, stroke management, heart failure, autoimmune disorders and much more. Dr. Shah’s experience in sleep medicine focuses on children, adolescents and adult sleep disorders, specializing in breathing issues, sleep apneas, narcolepsy, circadian rhythm problems, insomnia and beyond.

Dr. Shah’s approach to care focuses on his patient's well-being. He believes “developing mutual relationships with my patients based on respect and trust is necessary to make cohesive decisions together with consideration of my patients' values. It is necessary to focus on each patient’s individual needs by spending the necessary time, in turn providing high quality care.”

Most importantly, Dr. Shah believes in communication, mutual understanding, trust and having objective outcomes during a visit with his patients. He enjoys making improvements in patients’ health throughout their life and the gratification of improving quality of life.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Shah enjoys playing with his children, chess, traveling and table tennis. He is also passionate about food insecurity, cancer awareness and mental health prevention including depression and anxiety.
