About Me
Cecilia Minano, MD MPH is a member of Summit Health’s Gastroenterology team. Dr. Minano has an extensive clinical background in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux, liver diseases, and colon cancer prevention and detection. She strongly believes in the power of the doctor-patient relationship, which is built on trust and open communication. “We are a team working together to improve your overall health.”
Dr. Minano has been in practice as a Gastroenterologist since 2011. She joins Summit Health from Crystal Run Healthcare with previous practice experience at the Digestive Disease and Nutrition Center of Westchester.
Dr. Minano’s notable professional accomplishments include being a guest lecturer for the medical students of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has also co-authored several articles and abstracts during her medical training concerning liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, Hepatitis C, Helicobacter pylori and pancreatic stents. Among her many honors and rewards are the Peter Elsbach Award for Excellence in Research and the Richard Juarez Commitment to the Community Award.
Dr. Minano takes pride in being an immigrant from Peru from humble beginnings. She came here at a young age and achieved the American dream through hard work, determination and perseverance. She has enjoyed medical mission trips to both Central and South America and hopes to embark on future adventures.
Dr. Minano keeps her heart full and happy by spending time with her husband and three beautiful children and traveling the world.
